Latest Animal and Pet News - Laurie Kay Olson

I write on the latest animal news and most interesting animal stories. I come to PetsLady with a background in print journalism for the Colorado Daily newspaper. Some of my favorite assignments there included theraputic horseback riding and Canine Companions for Independence, so this is a natural fit. Living in Boulder, Colorado, where wildlife abounds, I am frequently dealing with deer, fox, skunks, squirrels, rabbits, snakes, birds, and mice. My cat, Naomi, helps round out the menagerie around me.

Cats Drinking Milk
Posted on January 11, 2017

Pinecone Puppy
Posted on January 7, 2017

One of the things I like about winter is that it makes it easier to find pinecones. Well, unless it snows. Or if the wind is blowing, or . . . . Well, you get the idea.

Sherlock Holmes Bunny
Posted on January 6, 2017

Oh, Watson! How are we supposed to solve crimes when you keep contaminating the evidence?

Rose Parade Surfing Dog
Posted on January 3, 2017

This year's Annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, really went to the dogs this year. While all the floats in the parade were as beautiful as usual, there was one parade float that was particularly "fetching" in its appeal.

Posted on December 28, 2016

Other dogs get toys for Christmas. But I am a Jewish dog so I got a sweater for Hanukkah. It's hard to play with a sweater without shredding it.
