Today is a holiday. Well, sort of. It is a strictly tongue-in-cheek
affair called The Slugs Return From Capistrano Day. Since slugs don't
winter over there it makes little sense.

This noteworthy date reminds people all over the country that slugs are active once again. For those of us who garden they are pests. I think I shall celebrate by serving them beer. He-he-he. That is my evil laugh. They crawl into the beer and they drown. A simple solution to a cold and slimy problem. At least they die happy.
