A “lovely” tuxedo cat from Holland and her comparatively “heartless” sister have parleyed their natural gifts into an impressive social media presence.

Cats' coats can display some amazing markings but somehow it's the heart-shaped ones that catch our eyes... especially around this time of year. Take Zoe, for instance, a British shorthair mix “tuxedo” cat from Utrecht, the Netherlands. Joanne Smienk, Zoe's owner, adopted the fluffy black & white female but she wasn't actually her first choice. That would be Izzy, Zoe's sister.

“We were planning on adopting one kitten,” explained Smienk, “and we had chosen Izzy at first. When we went to pick her up we saw Zoe too and she charmed us with her adorable heart marking.” It seemed that no one had noticed the distinctive pattern before, added Smienk, and it was Zoe's playful attitude and her extra-fluffy fur that really made her stand out. Smienk was told Zoe was the only one of her litter with a soft and fluffy coat.

Now Smienk had a decision to make: would they adopt Izzy or Zoe? In the end, the litter-mates made the decision easy through their obvious sisterly love. “They were the only tuxedo kittens of their litter,” stated Smienk, “and they did everything together. We just couldn't separate them (so we) went home with both. This is still our best impulsive decision ever.”

They're not kittens anymore but Izzy and Zoe still share that special sisterly bond. Luckily for the rest of us, Smienk (above) has opted to virtually share Izzy and Zoe with the rest of the world. She's set up a popular Instagram account, @izzyandthefluff, and the pair also boast their own Facebook and Twitter accounts. Check 'em out if you need to smile this Valentines Day... or ANY day.
