'Tis the time of year to don your gay apparel -- well, at least your
favorite ugly Christmas sweater. Why not let your darling dog get in on
the fun with its own ugly sweater designed just for dogs. The sweaters
out there are just as ugly -- and as funny -- as any sweater you could
buy for yourself.
#1: Lime Green with Brown Reindeer Ugly Dog Sweater
This sweater has that quality that makes it look like weird Aunt Shirley knit it for your dog after someone gave her a free supply of green and brown yarn that they just couldn't sell at the craft store. If only Aunt Shirley was really able to knit this well. Look -- all the stitches are the same size and shape. What's up with that?

#2: Ugly Christmas Dog Sweater with Bow
A questionable level of design is key to the ugly sweater. This one features a bow and snowflakes that are hard to distinguish as being those things -- unless the snowflakes are supposed to be on the fast track to being slush. While this sweater is not tremendously embarrassing, it isn't exactly pretty either. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

#3: Ugly Plaid Christmas Tree Dog Sweater
This sweater gives me nightmares of Christmas past. My mother was totally into plaid and loved to sew rick rack on just about everything. Therefore this sweater automatically falls into the ugly category, even if it weren't for the dog bones raining on the tree.

#4: Christmas Stockings Ugly Dog Sweater
Okay, this one isn't so ugly, just a little weird because the stockings are so big. Santa would get a hernia trying to bring enough into the house to fill them. If your dog doesn't like the sweater as it is, he can do a little modification and turn the stockings into new chew toys.

#5: Cool Snowman Ugly Dog Sweater
Why is a snowman wearing sunglasses in a snowstorm? Who knows? Maybe he is in disguise. What is scary is that some of the snowflakes falling from the sky are red. I hope Santa is okay and that he didn't get decked by boughs of holly.

#6: Naughty Reindeer Christmas Dog Sweater
I've heard of reindeer games, but I don't want to know what kind of kinky games these reindeer are playing. There is no way for me to convince myself that they are just playing leap frog. It is still funny though.

#7: Scary Christmas Tree Dog Sweater
Okay, this creepy Christmas tree looks like he's been drinking waaaaay too much coffee this year. He's going to be awake right through to Arbor Day. He's going to come after us in our sleep. It's a good thing that we have a dog to protect us. If nothing else the dog could lift his leg and kill the tree. HA!

#8: Creepy Santa Ugly Christmas Dog Sweater
This sweater holds the likeness of the creepiest and scariest Santa I
have ever seen. Perhaps this one is from an alternate dimension. It wouldn't be quite so bad if he looked at all jolly rather than comatose!

#9: Freaky Rudolph Ugly Christmas Dog Sweater
When it comes to ugly sweaters for dogs, I love this one. It really is somewhat ugly, totally off-beat, and really funny. May I even say that it is downright "fetching?"

#10: Leg-Lifting Ugly Christmas Dog Sweater
This one is my favorite of the lot. Funny, inappropriate, and ugly. The trifecta of ugly Christmas sweater traits. It is a snowman's nightmare come true -- right behind melting. Let the peeing begin!
