Eight year-old Labrador Retriever, Terfel, had confined himself to his doggie basket because his once familiar world had become a place where he was  always banging into things. That seemed his sad lot in life until the day he met and bonded with Pwdidtat, a sweet cat who shows him the way to go every day of their lives.

Terfel Gets A Seeing-Eye Dog Who Is A Cat

Terfel is completely blind and his adjustment has been very difficult. According to his owner, Judy Godfrey-Brown,  he has a great deal of trouble navigating though a world of darkness, so much so that he became afraid to move around the house. And then an unlikely  animal heroine named Pwditat entered the family picture. The new stray kitty became Terfel's seeing-eye dog/cat. She guides him along with her paws, leading  him around the house  and out into the fragrant garden where he can feel the sun at his back.(See: Ceasar the Camel and Dolly The Mare.)

The two animals are inseparable. It seems that the cat has an extra sense when it comes to Terfel and what he would like to do. From the very beginning, the cat approached the dog and somehow sensed that he could not see. This sweet rescuer led him gently out of his basket and into the world where he belongs. For eight-year-old  Terfel, the cat helps him  find his way and their owner, retired civil servant, Judy Godfrey-Brown, marvels  at the loving  bond that exists between these two animals. In her own words, Godfrey-Brown states: "I've never seen anything like it. Pwdiditat immediately  seemed to know that Terfel was blind through some sort of sixth sense that animals have. She uses her paws to help guide him around the house and into  the garden. They are glued to each other and even sleep together now." (See: Hero Pit Bull Rescues Humans  and Animals From Fire.)

The cat's healing presence can be felt every where in the household. The care of both animals has been temporarily relegated to friend, Anne Craig , since their owner's recent hospitalization. Mesmerized by the love bond between these two animals, she said:"They're fantastic friends. They truly love each other and are together whenever they can be."

Pwdidtat is an unsung heroine representing the best of animal nature. A helping hand (or paw) always makes  a difference in the lives of those who suffer, whether they walk on two legs or four.
