Two battery-operated oval toys communucate with each other by Bluetooth technology. When your dog interacts with one of the toys, the other toy squeaks, distracting your pup to the sound of the second ball, until he makes contact with that ball, when the first ball squeaks. Didn't quite get that? Watch!
Proper set-up of the Richochet Dog Toys is important, but not complicated. The toys come with explicit instructions in print, but the video works well too!
Once set up, the toys can be separated up to 30 feet away from each other, although the sound may reach the other toy as far as 60 feet away - but start with a 5 to 10 foot distance between the balls, and work up to greater distance as your dog gets used to the toys. In the first several uses, set the toys up where they are visible to your dog; after she gets used to playing with them, hiding one of the toys at start-up will be more challenging for your dog. Don't get me wrong, the moving sounds of these toys are challenging at any distance from each other!
Early reviews of the PetSafe Ricochet Dog Toys indicate that the toys are a hit in single-dog households. Among multiple-dog families, a dog's focus may be easily distracted by the other dogs. If you can separate your pups and allow one-at-a-time play, it would provide more focused stimulation for each of them
That's the buzz for today!
