When a dog needs a lift because he can no longer jump on your bed or couch, even though he is permitted, you can provide special steps to help him. But why not a nice easy slope?

The reason I ask is because most dogs don't like climbing steps made for their indoor use. I don't blame dogs. These steps are usually very narrow - both length and width-wise.

So I congratulate Pet Gear for making a nice broad ramp for teacup to medium size dogs so that they can get up on the couch, up into the back seat of your car, and maybe even up to your bed. (There's another version below that might work better for the bed!)

This short sloped step even has a great name: it's call a "Stramp!"

Measuring 22"L x 20"W x 10"H, the small Stramp has a very gentle slope, a removable textured carpet that can be machine washed, and rubber grippers on the bottom to prevent your pet from sliding. It weighs about 8.5 pounds and it can hold up to 175 pounds!

See how easy it is for dogs to use the Stramp....

The larger size Stramp is 28"L x 16"W x 16 inches and can hold up to 150 pounds. Sloped at a sharper angle, the larger Stramp has a convenient step at the top for a comfortable move from the step to the bed or chair.  Cats, of course, will use the Stramps, whether they need to use them or not.

But the best thing about this Stramp is that it is covered with a special SupertraX™ weave so your dog or cat can easily grip it with his nails.

The Pet Gear Stramps are made of polypropylene plastic and have a convenient storage compartment beneath. This larger version comes in beige and chocolate.

Both versions of the Stramp come unassembled, but customers say they are very easy to put together and come with explicit instructions. The Pet Gear Stramp Stair & Ramp Combination is a very highly reviewed pet product.

That's the buzz for today!
