Old and busted: Wetsuits. New hotness: Petsuits! Australian startup company Petflair will put your pet's photo on a men's or women's swimsuit.
Remember those store-bought shirts emblazoned with giant animal heads that were a thing a few years back? Australia-based Petflair is bringing that concept back but with a twist: instead of a generic critter, picture your pet and rather than a t-shirt they'll print it on a swimsuit – men's or women's.
Petflair was founded by an Olympic water polo player whose cute & clever concept exploded on Kickstarter earlier this year. Over a thousand backers pledged over $100,000 to ensure Petflair's success and the first deliveries are expected to go out in December of 2017. Not only is the concept appealing, it's as easy as pie. Simply upload a photo of your pet and Petflair does the rest, properly scaling the image to fit the selected swimsuit. Costs range from $59 to $99, plus taxes and shipping.
Naturally you'll want to coordinate your beachwear and Petflair aims to please, offering the same service for towels and tote bags. Last but not least, Petflair is a company with heart, stating at their website “Every Petflair purchase pays for a shelter animal to be photographed, shared online, and eventually adopted through our charity partner Pound Paws.” Let's hope they (and you) make a big splash this holiday season and remember, in Australia Christmas comes in mid-summer.
