Like the treats, trash bags and all the other included items, kitty's litter box also comes with the carrier, though it is not pre-filled with litter. And it is to be removed from the carrier before your cat goes into the litter box.
The carrier is only for transport of the litter box, not to be used inside the carrier. There is a separation between the litter box compartment and the kitty comfort compartment, so they don't come into contact with each other.
Kitty rests on a comfortable faux fur pad until she wants to come out to eat, drink, play, or use her litter box.
