These cat & dog wall clocks from Japanese designer Keitaro Fujii sport lifelike wagging tails that will charm and alarm you.
Remember those classic Kit-Cat wall clocks with their shifty eyes and swinging tails? Japanese designer Keitaro Fujii does... and his line of tail-wagging wall clocks take that concept and take it to the next level!
Featured at the Craft Ogawa website, Fujii's wall clocks focus on only one body part – the tail – leaving the rest of the clock's “body” as a 2D afterthought. The tails, though, more than make up for the lack of eye movement. Their internal springs, gears and connectors allow the clocks pendulum motion to be expressed much like the wagging of an actual cat or dog's tail.
Fujii's wagging tail wall clocks have proven to be very popular – waiting lists mean buyers must wait weeks or even months for the model of their choice. Speaking of which, the clocks come in Black Cat, Tuxedo Cat, Tri-Color Cat, Beagle Puppy, Dalmatian, and Golden Retriever styles, just to name a few. Each is priced at 21,600 yen or about $175 at current exchange rates. (via Jonelle Patrick and Rocketnews24)
