Benebone Wishbone For Dogs

Benebone Wishbone For Dogs

If your dog's a chewer, Benebone may be the bone to pick, 'cause Benebone's bones are for chewers - but only for dogs who are chewers. So, hide your moccasins, and see which one of three shapes and three REAL flavors would keep your dog entertained (while you keep watch!)

Uniquely shaped for comfort and purpose, Benebones are ergonomic for your dog! They come in Wishbone, Rocking, and Pawplexer versions, all just perfectly shaped for your dogs paws and jaws so they are both easy for them to hold and easy to chew. They are all made of nylon and one of three major flavors: real chicken, real bacon, and real peanuts. And the bones are really made in the U.S.A.

Benebones are the most popular and most highly rated dog bones on Amazon.  The most popular shape, with more than 6,000 customers, is the Wishbone, which comes in small (for dogs up to 30 pounds), medium (for dogs up to 60 pounds), and large (for dogs up to 90 pounds).

Here's a dog bone that really rocks!  It's the Rocking Benebone with dental ridges so your dog gets some extra tooth action. It is available in small for dogs under 30 pounds and medium for under 60 pounds.

Though the customer ratings on the Benebone Rocking Bone are very high, some do warn that the ridges on these bones can become sharp, so you will want to watch for this. Though not necessarily recommended by the manufacturer, one customer suggested that on any of the Benebones you can use a Dremel Tool to file down and smooth out sharp edges.  Benebones recommends that you throw away bones with sharp edges and replace them with new bones.

The newest addition to the Benebone collection is the Pawplexer Benebone, above. The center of the Pawplexer is intended for another chew toy or treat, so this chew toy adds even more variety and challenge to the 'hold and chew' activity.

The Pawplexer comes in two sizes, small, for dogs under 40 pounds, and large, for dogs under 80 pounds.

Take care to follow the Benebones recommendations for bone sizes and their corresponding dog weights.

I hope you know the drill on dog bones of any kind, but in case you forgot, I'm going to remind you:

TOP 6 Warnings For Giving Your Dog A Bone

1. Don't allow your dog to chew on any bones, including the Benebones, unsupervised.

2. Don't let your dog get crazy chewing on a bone.  A supervised half-hour of bone chewing once a day should be plenty.

3. Dog bones should not be given to young dogs whose teeth are still developing, or to older dogs with gum or dental problems.

4. Check the dog bone before, after, and during (if possible) your dog's possession of it. Make sure there are no splinters or harmful grooves. If the bones are not smooth, file them down with a Dremel or similar tool and make sure the bones are smooth before letter your dog chew on it again. Benebone simply suggests that you permanently retire a bone that is not smooth and replace it with a new one.

5. If you have multiple dogs, separate them when they are chewing on bones. As mild-mannered as a dog may be, and as well as two or more dogs may get along, dogs can become TYRANNOSAURUS REX when their besties get around their bones. Do what you can to avoid a dog fight over a bone!

6. Likewise, your dog may not want to give up her bone to you either. Don't be surprised and don't become angry at your dog if she becomes aggressive toward you when she has a bone; this is a natural behavior. Instead, try to distract your dog away from her bone with a strong odorous food - maybe a dried beef or dried salmon jerky, or a piece of chicken, or something else she really likes. If that doesn't work, pretend to be leaving or taking her outside - do something she likes!  Be patient; you'll find a way, and if you've distracted your dog with something really good, she'll forgive you taking away her bone.

Meantime, check out these Benebones!

That's the buzz for today!
