A Golden Retriever from Suzhou, China is more than just a good pet, he's a four-legged river cleaning machine!

Indeed, this is one “green” Lab though that has nothing to do with his frequent forays into a typically polluted Chinese river.

According to the pup's owner, the otherwise ordinary dog has picked up an extraordinary habit: whenever it spies a disposed plastic bottle floating down the stream, it dives right in, snatched the trash from the waves, and carries it to shore in his mouth. So, what has YOUR pooch done for the planet today?

But wait, it gets better – the dog doesn't just drop the trash at his owner's feet. Instead, he goes the distance by neatly depositing each one in the nearest recycling bin. We must assume his owner has trained him to do this but those details weren't provided by our source, the Gusu Evening News.

Last but not least, you might think a dog grabbing the odd bottle out of a good-sized river is just a drop in the bucket when it comes to fighting pollution, and you would be correct if it WAS just the odd bottle.

Nope, this particular pollution-fighter collects about 20 improperly disposed plastic bottles every time his owner takes him for a walk – a daily occurrence, weather permitting. The owner estimates his pet has fetched about 2,000 bottles from the river to date. That dog deserves a steak dinner... and a thorough bath.
