That's one way to add a little horsepower - an Idaho rancher who has a horse and a motorcycle has combined the best of both worlds by rigging up a sidecar for his stallion companion.
Casey Perkins of Shoshone County, Idaho has a horse and will travel, though modern highways are tough on a cayuse's hooves. Being a resourceful rancher who's handy in the toolshed, Perkins (aka the_van_man__) fashioned a single-occupant, roofless sidecar and connected it to his motorcycle. Dude, whip up some goggles for that critter, stat!
This very short video was recorded by Perkins' wife, who states “My husband started this whole deal a little over a year ago when he decided to modify the family van and hauled his horse in it.” Here's a video of the “Whinny Van” in motion – gotta love the horse's nonchalant expression.
“That inspired his next invention of hauling the horse in the side car of a motorcycle!,” adds Mrs. Perkins, no doubt thrilled to have her grocery-getter back. As for Perkins and his palomino passenger, we predict a close encounter with an Idaho State Police trooper is only a matter of time. (via UPI)
