IVS Arthramine Max
I have an old dog who, despite his 15 years, still tries to act like a puppy. It's actually inspiring to watch how he reacts to his only-partial sight, as he moves around gingerly bumping into walls, getting stuck between the bars of a bar stool, and stepping into his water bowl... without the slightest hint of embarrassment. I have to physically move him away from objects because he can't hear me calling him.
My pup, Nukkles, enjoys his life. He sees best in daylight and has memorized the confines of the patio and yard with the help of his great sense of smell. He can still manage to see the treats I throw for him which contrast the color of the sidewalk. And he even has 'puppy spurts,' running into the house from the yard after he's pooped! This actually scares me, but it shows me his bright spirit.
IVS Arthramine Max
Pain does not normally accompany deafness or blindness, so I was content treating my dog's other needs, as always, with CBD and bone and muscle supplements. But about two months ago, something happened to one of Nukkle's back legs, and he couldn't fully stand up. In a crouched position, moaning intermittently, he kept walking around in small circles. We took him to the nearby emergency pet hospital and, after x-rays and examination, it was determined that he had "coxofemoral joint incongruity," otherwise known as canine hip dysplasia.
At his age, all the vets would recommend was a prescription pain medication. That helped him a lot, but I didn't want to use it long term, as it made my dog sleepy all the time. Also, prescription pain drugs, even for pets, are only prescribed to be used for a limited time - a recommended 10 days - or just 'as needed.'
IVS Arthramine Max
A friend of mine recommended that I try a natural supplement that had helped many older dogs with joint issues and was used by police K-9s. I asked what was the difference between that supplement, Arthramine Max, and the glucosamine and chondroitin supplement I was giving Nukkles. He answered, "This has everything!"
So I decided to try it. I had nothing to lose; the product even has a money-back guarantee!
Arthramine Max, is in pill form and is compounded for dogs 75 pounds or more; smaller dogs take 1/2 a pill. (The pill is scored and splits easily in half if you break it, or you can use a pill spliter or sharp knife to cut it.) The Arthramine Max is edible thanks to its dried beef liver flavoring!
As for the Arthramine Max having 'everything,' as my friend said, it does seem to have a collection of healthy ingredients that I haven't found all together in another joint supplement. Here are the primary ingredients:
Glucosamine: aids with inflammation, cartilage breakdown and loss
Chondroitin: reduces pain, increases joint mobility, decreases need for painkillers
Hyaluronic Acid: keeps joints lubricated
Omega 3 Fatty Acid: fights inflammation
Manganese: improves bone health and reduces inflammation
Vitamin C: reduces inflammation
MSM: natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain killing) product
- Hyalauric acid: speeds muscle repair, anti-inflammatory and reduces joint pain and stiffness
So I started my 25-pound dog on half an Arthramine Max pill right away; that was two months ago. I didn't want to over-react when I first saw improvement in my dog's behavior and activity, so I gave the product some time before writing this endorsement of it.... But now it has my full endorsement, as well as other customer endorsements here on Amazon.
Though Nukkles' hips droop somewhat when he stands still, I can tell that he's not in pain. His spirit is back. He's playful, he runs (even against my will), and he can tolerate a gentle hip massage. Sometimes when he overdoes it, he has pain and I give him one of the prescription pills, but generally he is off them.
I'm really happy we switched to Arthramine Max. It is made by IVS (International Veterinary Sciences), which also makes my favorite pet wipes, and several other well-reviewed products I haven't tried yet!
(For middle-aged and senior dogs, I also recommend Cholodin for mental alertness, Can-C for mild to moderate cataracts, and Innovet Pet PurHEMP CBD for improved physical and mental health.
That's the buzz for today!
