Thanksgiving Day is all about food, food and more food. It’s a culinary marathon. In addition to the pièce de résistance [aka as turkey], the copious number of side dishes [both traditional and reconstructed favorites] are in the hundreds.

I don't know why, but I have the feeling that Mom is trying to turn me into a Thanksgiving centerpiece.

A rescue turkey in Virginia has plans of her own for Thanksgiving, and it doesn't include being eaten for dinner. Instead, she'll spend it with her bestest buddy, a dog named Minnow.

Atlanta program, "Home for the Pawlidays," will give 20 rescue dogs an opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving with actual families in their homes for a short reprieve from shelter life.

Our pets enjoy getting new toys - and dogs, especially, love to tear open their wrappings.  So, here are my picks of this year's best, including gifts for dogs, cats, pet birds, rabbits, ferrets, geckos and other small pets!

Hi Dad! We caught this turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. It was really easy too!

There we go. I'm not going to tell Dad that I've decorated the pie for him. I'm just going to let him be surprised when he serves it.
