Last month two hikers, a man and woman, from Broomfield, Colorado and their dogs found themselves in quite a quandary while hiking Mount Quandary. After reaching the summit, they took a wrong turn during their descent and ended up stuck on a 200-foot cliff. To make matter's worse, the couple's back pack with their food, water and other gear fell over the cliff.

Truffles are one of the most expensive and sought after delicacies in the world. It is the fruit of a subterranean mushroom that takes years to produce and that are difficult to farm. For many centuries people used special pigs to hunt for them in the forest. Over the last century dogs have become trained to do the work. In Oregon these days dogs are the ones on the hunt for the four types of edible truffles that grow there.
