how to scout out pet-friendly accommodations in advance of travel to be
assured there will be 'room at the inn' when you
arrive. With today's technology and specific websites dedicated to pet
travel, that job has become a lot easier as a result of certain hotel
brands and even independent inns and B&Bs opening their doors to
four-legged guests.

The British pet insurance company, MORE TH>N, recently
designed a prototype of the world's first stair lift for fat dogs,
supposedly to emphasize to dog owners that their dogs are getting fatter
by the year.  At the current rate of growth of fat dogs, more than 50
percent of British dogs will be so fat by the year 2022 that they won't
be able to carry out basic tasks.

The Marine Corps base at Miramar in San Diego, CA has an innovative
program for inmates of its brig. Those prisoners who qualify for the
program get to train service dogs that later give their service to
'fellow' Marines wounded in combat.  It's a win-win situation.
