Did you know that the pink in a flamingo's feathers comes from the food
they eat?  Their favorite cuisine includes succulent shrimp, prime
snails, and a generous side of algae. That oddly shaped bill makes in
easy for them to act as a steam-shovel to gather up these tasty treats.

Famingos are born white and gradually color as they feed. The darker the color in an adult bird makes them more desireable as a mate. Who says guys can't wear pink? Happy Pink Flamingo Day!
