'Game of Thrones' & 'Walking Dead' Tough Guys Call For New Year's Resolutions To Help Animals

Peter Dinklage's portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the 'Game of Thrones' makes him a warrior of consequence, irrespective of his size. Norman Reedus as the 'Walking Dead's' number-one archer has evolved into the guy you'd most like to have fighting for you if we were ever struck by an Zombie Apocalypse. However in real life, both of these fine actors have their collaborative soft sides.

Both are representatives for 'Cruelty Free International,' a global campaign to end animal testing. Based in London, it's a known fact that over 80 percent of the world still allows animals to be used in cruel and unnecessary cosmetic tests. Because many in the world don't want animals to suffer and die as test subjects, these men have taken up the cause and are asking the public to make this year's New Year resolutions -- one of compassion for all animals.

Dinklage, as the U.S. Ambassador for the cause is a well-known and committed animal advocate and vegetarian. His message for this holiday season is, "if you are going to make resolutions this year, please. . . join me and support the campaign to achieve a global ban on cosmetics testing on animals."

This 2-minute YouTube video and catchy tune, "No Love without Freedom," tells you how to support the cause and help make the world more cruelty free.

Reedus also asks Americans to follow the European Union's lead in ending this kind of testing and his New Year message highlights the Leaping Bunny product line which has been declared "cruelty free" by the organization:

“New Year is an exciting period as we make resolutions and contemplate what the next twelve months will bring. Please make sure of one thing, however, and that is to make 2014 a compassionate one by only shopping for cruelty-free products which feature the Leaping Bunny logo. Please support Cruelty Free International and its global campaign to ban cosmetic tests on animals…if we all do just that then perhaps we can make 2014 the year in which we helped to save the lives of thousands of animals.”

While some products display labels claiming their brands are "not tested on animals," often they do not guarantee that the product is actually free from animal testing. Presently, Leaping Bunny is the one to look for, since it's been certified as "cruelty free" by the internationally-recognized Humane Cosmetics or Humane Household Products Standards.

A broad range of personal care, cosmetic and household products carry the Leaping Bunny mark. Using the "Go Cruelty Free" search tool on their website, you can find ‘cruelty-free’ products such as skin, hair, foot and dental care, fragrances, make-up, nail care, baby care and aromatherapy products, as well as a wide range of household cleaners from dishwasher detergents to disinfectants.

In addition to Dinklage and Reedus, other Cruelty-Free celebrity supporters this cause, include Chrissy Hynde, Paul McCartney, Jude Law, Annie Lenox, Joanna Lumley, Danni Minogue, Kimberly Wyatt and Helen Mirren.
