L'Air du Temps by Perier: Owl Dear Cat art by Perier
Animal artist Corine Perier, born in Paris and still living and working in France, produces these beautiful and bizarre paintings of animal mixes. With a background in painting restoration, she began her full career as a painter in 2006. This year alone, she has exhibits in Australia, U.K., France and at least two in Italy, as well as her permanent exhibit in Paris. Good news for 2013! She will have an exhibition in Seattle, WA, U.S.A. at the Roq la Rue Gallery.

Le Voltigeur by Perier: Real Flying Squirrel Art by Perier
She references Flemish masters' technique as style inspiration, and focuses primarily on including endangered species in her paintings. She uses surrealist techniques, such as barren landscapes and odd combinations. Some of the animal art amalgamations are so well done, it sometimes takes even a forewarned observed a second glance to notice the abnormal animals.

Corine Perier's subtlety certainly made me do a double take! Which mixed animal art caught you off guard? Comment below!
