It's good to know that there is a very special childhood experience that post-WWI children share with today's kids. It's Walt Disney.

Walt Disney made his first animation in 1923. It was the Alice In Wonderland character who is still fabulously popular with today's kids.  It's hard to believe, but most of us alive today in the U.S. grew up with Walt Disney's characters like Mickey Mouse, who Disney said was his first animal star.

Walt Disney and his brother Roy became the Walt Disney Studio, which continued to thrive, growing exponentially every decade, bringing its movies and collateral children's books, toys, furniture, and clothing to kids all over the world. And with the pet market booming, there are hundreds more pet toys, bowls, beds, and collars and leashes that Disney created for pets.

I'm impressed that the quality of these items is rated very highly, so Disney is not tarnishing its superb reputation by making inferior pet products.

Here are some Disney pet toys that I fell in love with....

Like 'Mickey,' above, this super-plushy Minnie ice cream cone pet toy can also be used as a pillow. Both Mickey and Minnie are 10 x 5 x 3 inches and have two squeakers inside. They are some of the sweetest of the Disney dog toys I've seen and definitely belongs with a gentle dog who will keep it safe.

(I found the Mickey Ice Cream Toy in a matching bed on Amazon; it's really sweet!)

From sweet to scary, some customers have kept the Scary Teddy for themselves. But most allowed their dogs to play with this toy which, by the way, is intended to be a dog toy.  Scary Teddy is a well-made toy with a squeaky tucked into its 15.5 by 7 inch plush, but sturdy body.

Here is the original Scary Teddy presented by hero Jack to a little boy at Christmas!

Unlike the Scary Teddy, above,  this Jack & Zero Dog Toy is sure to pull at your heartstrings. There is virtually no information about the toy on Amazon, nor that I could find elsewhere, But it is available, it is by Disney and it is precious.

Disney's "Noggin" Toys

The Disney Noggin Dog Toys are simply adorable and lots of fun. There's a real 2.8 inch tennis ball tucked into each character head, with lots of character detail on the outside. Please share these toys with your dogs!

I can't resist.... Here's just one more:

Disney's Squarehead Dog Toys

Another version of the Cheshire Cat, the Squarehead toys are made from strong corduroy fabric. They're great for gentle chewers and cats apparently like them too! They are about 11 by 5 inches and close to 2 inches thick. Dogs seem to really like them even after they're destroyed. (Go figure!)

Without realizing that Hank (below) was a dog toy, a customer bought this Squarehead for his 2-year old, who loved it. But Dad notes that in Finding Dory, Hank has 7 legs, not 8. So the Hank Squarehead dog toy is not totally accurate in its depiction. Just don't teach your dog to count!

The temptation to collect these and other Disney dog toys is real, but the temptation of your dogs to steal them is also real.  So you might as well just give them the toys.

That's the buzz for today!
