They say that clothes make the man, but do clothes make the dog? I think any dog would look smashing in The Dog's Reflective Raincoat.
The Dog's Reflective Raincoat
Picking up where I left off yesterday, dogs not only need boots when it's raining, they need raincoats. And I don't believe I've seen a dog's raincoat that's as thoughtful as this one. Yes, it's handsome too!
What The Dog's Reflective Raincoat does best is cover all the areas of a dog that rain targets - the back, the rear, the rear haunches, the neck, the chest, and head. Each area is not only covered, but secured with elastic, a tie, or a strap.
The features that are most unique in this raincoat are the strapped rear and front haunch covers and the wide waist band around the belly. Then, there's the internal hoodie-like head cover that will keep your pup's head and neck warm.
The Dog's Reflective Raincoat
The material is a blend of polyester and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) which has a reflective coating, so the entire raincoat is reflective.
The raincoat's closure at the waist is hook and loop, which leaves a wide extension for large girth dogs.
The Dog's Reflective Raincoat comes in five sizes. The extra small, (neck circumference 17", neck to tail length 12") can be purchased at this link, but the small, medium, large, and extra large are found at this link.
Size | XL | L | M | S |
---|---|---|---|---|
Neck Circumference | 24" | 22" | 20" | 18" |
Neck to Tail Length | 20" | 18" | 16" | 14" |
P.S. Putting clothes on your dog
After puchasing this raincoat or any other dog garment, you may have to encourage your dog to wear it. If this is the case, let me give you a few tips:
1. Let your dog get used to having the coat around. You can leave it near her on her bed, in her kennel, or just bring it near her when she's resting. Let her sniff it or cuddle with it. Do this for 4-7 days, depending on how resistent she is in general.
2. After a long walk or run or play, when your dog is tired, place the head portion of the coat over his head and give him a desirable treat and plenty of verbal praise when it's accomplished.
3. Continue placing each part of the coat on the appropriate part of your pup's body, giving a treat and praise after each section is placed. If your dog gets irritable stop until the next try. Be patient. If your dog resists too much, take the coat off, but keep the coat located around your dog.
4. Be persistent and give treats. Even after you've successfully accustomed your dog to a raincoat or other piece of clothing, give him a reward for wearing it.
That's the buzz for today!
