Neon rubber bones and cuddly sock monkeys are dog toy staples, but if you’re ready to show off something truly unique the next time you and your canine pal hit the dog park, check out these fun oddball chew toys:
Dino Pros by Charming Pet
This series of rugged rubber dinosaur-shaped balloon animals are as sweet as they are durable. Jessie, my golden retriever pal, seems to prefer hard rubber toys, as they’re tough enough to endure her shark jaws, but they’re just pliable enough to give her the satisfaction of giving her back teeth a workout. I’m a huge dinosaur fan, and I couldn’t pass up on this creative twist on the classic stegosaurus shape! (Other animal shapes are available in a much softer latex material for softer chewers!)
Squeeki Tiki by Otomik
Speaking of Jessie, she’s already a fan of several of the ultra-long lasting modern dog chew toys from the brilliant minds at Otomik*, but I really wanted to give a special shout-out to their Squeeki TIkis! They’re made in two sizes (large and small), two styles (Moai and Classic Tiki) and a rainbow of colors to suit you and your dog. If they’re a tenth as durable as the other Petprojekt toys in Jessie’s toy box, these Technicolor Tikis are more than a visual statement, they’re a long-term playtime investment!
(*Check out their Dogstik, Trypod and Dogbon too!)
Sip N' Chew Toys by Waggo
I know a cool idea when I see one, and Waggo took the tried and true concept of a “tough rubber toy that you put peanut butter inside of so the mutt will stop jumping on the guests” with their new Sip ‘N Chew Toys. Sure, it’s essentially a rubber tube that you’ll stuff with treats, but the design choice to print its exterior with a “paper party straw” design makes it an interesting toy to toss around the house, yard or pool. Dibs on the yellow one!
