We have never seen anything finer or funnier than the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards submissions for the last two years. Now, for the third year in a row, this successful competition will not only celebrate fabulous photographers, but the world's magnificent wildlife they bring to us.
Founded in 2015 by Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE and Tom Sullam, both award winning photographers, this competition has encouraged hundreds of sea, air, and land animals to be funny and photographers to capture their humor! This year, Joynson-Hicks and Sullam will both be on the panel of highly respected judges. The purpose of the competition is not only to give us all a good chuckle, but to promote conservation of all wildlife all over the planet.
And because that squirrel in your backyard isn't in the wilds of Kenya, it doesn't mean you shouldn't try to snap him while he's hanging upside down from your bird feeder. Backyard animals are still considered wild, unless, of course, they are pets. (Earlier this year the same photography team put on the Comedy Pet Photography Awards, so hold on until early next year for pet photos.)
The 2017 competition opened on June 2, 2017 and will close on September 30, 2017 at 11:59 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). There is no age limit, but there are rules, (like 'you must have taken the picture yourself within the last 99 years), so it's really important that you read this page.
That's the buzz for today!
