When I was a kid I loved having books to read just for Halloween. These days there are far more books to thrill your little ones with for the haunted holiday. These two books are a great way to encourage your child to read: Splat the Cat: What Was That? and Scaredy-Cat Splat!
Splat the Cat: What Was That? has the little black cat and his friends visiting a haunted house . Splat is nervous about how scary it might be. He can't worry about that long when his pet mouse, Seymour, gets lost in the creepy casa and Splat must come to the rescue -- with the help of his friends, of course.
Scaredy-Cat Splat! finds Splat facing Halloween with fear. He wants to have the scariest costume in the class, but no one believes he can. Sure enough, his costume is just weird rather than scary. Then an accident happens that makes Splat the scariest monster of all!
