It is said that there were once so many bison, or buffalo, in North America that their herds covered open grasslands like great dark shadows.
I live in one of these areas. Now the only buffalo seen around here is Ralphie, the University of Colorado mascot. She loves football and comes to all the home games. Go Buffs!
