The Alilan Sonic Head Spa Octopus Scalp Massager from Lourdes features 10 stimulating tentacles – two more than a REAL octopus – that gently soothe your weary noggin.
One wonders, was this cute but creepy relaxation device inspired by the tale of someone plunking a live cephalopod on their head... and enjoying the sensation? Though we don't recommend testing out that hypothesis, Japanese wellness device manufacturer Lourdes offers a rough approximation with their Alilan Sonic Head Spa.
Available in your choice of pink or black, the massager slightly resembles the horrifying Facehugger creature from the Alien sci-fi films but you don't want to think about that, especially when you're in the bathtub alone. Besides, the aforementioned interplanetary parasite has only eight legs while the Alilan (that's "Alilan", not "Alien") Sonic Head Spa has ten.
The leggy device is made from ABS and TPE plastic and is fully waterproof. It weighs about ½ pound and runs on three AAA-size batteries (not included). Users can select from two different massaging modes and vibration patterns, each of which lasts three minutes. A set of stickers allow you to personalize the body and make it look even more cute – and presumably, less creepy.
