Nazem Kadri's cat Jazzy may not be the highest scorer in the NHL (National Hairball League) but she DOES have her own Instagram account with thousands of followers.
Kadri, the Toronto Maple Leaf's 26-year-old star forward, acquired grey & white Jazzy last year from a local Toronto animal shelter. “She was a local rescue and I had an instant chemistry with her,” explains Kadri, “so I thought I'd throw her in a box and take her home.”
Jazzy was no doubt pleased with her new forever home but Kadri himself appears to be her biggest fan. “He's always talking about this cat, non-stop,” according to teammate Auston Matthews.
Since Matthews gets stuffed-up when a cat's in the room, following Jazzy on her new Instagram page is a viable option. “I might have to follow,” stated the Leaf's 2016 first-round draft pick and current leading scorer, “just so I can keep up with what's going on in her life.”
Jazzy's life looks pretty lush as expressed through her Instagram photos and videos. Within just a few days of going live, her account boasts over 4,200 followers while she's following a mere 14 lucky souls.
Not everyone's a fan, however. “I'm not going to follow though. Just not a fan of that cat, I don't know why,” said Maple Leaf defenceman Jake Gardiner. “I'm just joking. I don’t really care. But (Kadri's) pumped about it.” (via Sportsnet)
