Ear wax. We all get it. Even our dogs get it. Though ear wax has a protective function, you and your dog can get too much of a good thing.
That's why we clean our ears. And that's why we need to clean our dog's ears - at least once a month. One of five dogs have ear problems, many which could be avoided if we cleaned their ears.
EarWax PET
Eosera, a biotechnology company that makes products to clean and protect human ears, has a new, easy-to-use, ear cleaner for dogs that cleans dogs' ears and reduces wax build-up. The solution washes away any gunk he's collected in his ear, loosens the wax, relieves possible itching, and allows him to hear clearly again. Just like with humans, you need to do it, whether you think you need it or not. Gunk collects.
The product is called Earwax PET and the box indicates it's for dogs. (Most cats never need ear cleaning!)
Clean one ear at a time. Fill one of the accompanying pippettes with the Eosera fluid, or half-fill it for small dogs, and empty the vial slowly into your dog's ear while he is in a restful pose, preferably lying down. Gently massage the ear for several minutes to help loosen the debris in your dog's ear. Try not to let your dog shake her head until you have massaged the ear for awhile, as she will shake the liquid out before it is absorbed.
In about 20 minutes you can remove the remaining liquid in your dog's ear with a soft clean cloth or cotton pads. Then, you can start cleaning the other ear.
Here is a video that shows how easy the process is...
With gentle Earwax PET monthly ear cleanings, you can avoid emergency visits to the vet caused by ear infections. Like your own ears, just keep them clean.
That's the buzz for today!
