These days the family dog is more a part of the family than ever before. Dog owners are likely to take their furry family members with them everywhere. To that end Nissan has unveiled it's new X-Trail 4Dog Concept Car this year. Nissan is calling it the Rogue Dogue and it comes with numerous features to serve and comfort those of the canine persuasion -- and their human parents.

The cargo area has been transformed into a plush, quilted area for the family Fido. It comes with a fixed, removable dog bed, Ah, but dogs do not live by naps alone. So there are spill-proof water and food dishes. There is also a safety clip to attach to your dog’s collar or harness. The Rogue Dogue even comes with a dog first aid kit.

Of course your dog will not stay in the car all the time. You will have it out with you on your adventures in both city and country. No matter where you go your pooch will want to get wet or dirty, or wet AND dirty. In one of two drawers there is a small dog grooming kit. This includes a 360 dog shower with a built-in water tank. No one wants a wet dog in the car so there is a blow-drying attachment as well. A vent blows heated air to keep your pup nice and warm.

One of the great features is an extendable ramp so that your dog can get into the car with ease. This is perfect for older dogs and dogs with health issues like hip dysplasia. For you that means no more having to lift a heavy dog into the car.

To top it all off there is a ten-inch video screen so that your cuddly canine can keep an eye on what the rest of the family is doing. It works both ways and the driver can also check on the dog. Oh, and one more handy item for the responsible dog owner -- there is a built-it poop bag dispenser so that you are ready for when the necessary happens.

Sadly, this car is just a concept and not a real product – at least not yet – but it is kinda fun to dream about. Maybe someday . . .
