We write-up the latest upright and hand-held vacuum cleaners every year or two, those that are the best at picking up pet hair. But now you don't have to wait until your pet's hair hits the floor to clean it up. The newest way to vacuum pet hair is right off your pet! Indeed, you can make vacuuming part of the grooming process!
Here are four embodiments of pet grooming vacuums. See which one is right for your pet.
The most sophisticated pet groomer/vacuum we've found is the PETech Innobrush, which does all the brushing and de-tangling of your pet's fur for you at speeds up to 1,000 brush strokes per minute, but it does have a variable speed control if you want to slow it down.
Not only that, but the PETech has a massage tool aimed at relaxing your pet before, during, or after his grooming routine. Though one of the least noisy hair dryers you'll find, at around 65 decibels it still might frighten pets, especially small dogs, cats, and rabbits.... So, it's advised that you expose your pet to the noise for several days periodically, before using the PETech to groom them.
The PETech comes with four brush attachments for fur of different lengths and thickness. One of the brushes can be used on all dogs and doubles as a massage tool.
Now you're wondering how this miracle worker picks up your pets loose fur. Easy. It attaches to your upright vacuum with an enclosed hose and the "massage function."
What's really neat is that the package includes a vacuum adapter (#6 above). The Innobrush's power comes from an AC adapter.
You'll get the best idea of how the Innobrush works by viewing this video:
The InnoBrush is the most innovative and versatile of the 'grooming' vacuums at this time.
The XPower B-2 can be used as a pet dryer and a modest pet vacuum. It's best used on small to medium dogs. As opposed to the Innobrush above, this does not attach to a regular vacuum to pick up your dog's loose fur, but has that function itself, as well as the blower feature. Just attach the hose to the back end of the dryer and move the on-switch back and the groomer will 'inhale' instead of exhaling. If there is a small amount of fur or loose dust or particles on your dog, the XPower will work fine.
Customers are more impressed with the XPower as a dryer than a vacuum. It comes with 6 attachments that comb, brush, or just direct the air the way you want it. The B-2 model of the XPower weighs 7.6 pounds. If you want a lighter weight vac-dryer, look at the B-55 model. Both models come in your choice of purple, red, and green.
I-Clean's Groom Tool is an attachment which can turn a Dyson vacuum cleaner into a groom-vacuum for your pet. Attached to the vacuum's hose, the Groom Tool has a brush for your pet's fur angled at 35°. Brush your pet's fur with this attachment and it will be sucked right up into the vacuum. Can't be quicker than that!
This tool retracts its bristles for safety when not in use.
The I-Clean Groom Tool fits Dyson vacuum models DC24 DC25 DC33 DC35 DC62 DC65 and DC66. It comes with a free cleaner brush to use for the edges of Groom Tool when needed.
Here's a quick look at how it works:
There are a few other manufacturers of a pet grooming tool for Dyson vacuums, but the I-Clean has the best customers reviews so I would choose the I-Clean if I owned one of the above model Dysons. Customers for the most-part are very happy with its performance. Also, if you already have a Dyson, this pet-grooming tool is definitely most cost-effective.
You need to have a vacuum cleaner and a Furminator De-Shedding Tool already, as this Furminator Accessory simply attaches the vacuum to the Furminator. It's the green and black connector above. Included in the package are two removable heads to adjust to your tool size. Here's how it all works out....
The Furminator is an extremely popular de-shedding tool for dogs as well as cats. It comes in several sizes, but only the small, medium, and large sizes of the Furminator can connect through the Vacuum Accessory. You can purchase the tool separately here.
The tool is very good for dogs with thick hair. Having used the Furminator, I personally would not use it on dogs with fine or curly hair and/or dogs that don't shed. Though some users find it's great for cats, my own cat disappeared for 2 hours after I tried it on his fur!
The Furminator Vacuum Accessory has received some positive and some negative reviews, but the negative reviews have more to do with the inability of the FurVac Accessory to connect to personal vacuum cleaners, due to a size mismatch.
So each of the above pet vacuuming systems are unique in how they function. The Innobrush is the most luxurious system, the XPower B-2 the most practical, the I-Clean Dyson Pet Groom Tool Attachment is perfect for those with the right-fitting Dyson model, and the Furminator De-Shedding Tool is great for those who love the Furminator and have a well-fitting vacuum hose!
That's the buzz for today!
