When I was a kid my mom would set up a card table in front of the fireplace and we would spend many a winter evening putting together a jigsaw puzzle while talking or watching television. As cat people we would have loved to put together these awesome cat puzzles featuring the artwork of the popular artist Charles Wysocki. Check out Remington the Horticulturist:

His cats always seem to have fallen asleep in the middle of their mischief. There is enough detail in each to help with piecing the puzzle together with a keen eye. Check out the references to cats in book titles and product packaging. Check out Maggie the Messmaker:

Even if it is just you and your cat(s) at home in the evenings this is still an enjoyable and even meditative activity. And if you feel the need to talk it's probably about time to have a good heart-to-heart with your feline friends.
