Cat Butt Refrigerator Magnets are the miniaturized opposites of mounted animal hunting trophy heads, though this is what those antelope, rhinos and big cats might look like from the other side of the wall.
The magnets were featured at the Tokyo Design Festa, an international art exhibition showcasing the works of approximately 10,000 artists from around the world. From both the display captured by Jonelle Patrick and the artist's website, we can estimate the cat butt magnets come in at least a half-dozen styles - “a butt for every breed,” as Patrick so eloquently puts it.
Designed by “Catsgirl”, the magnets share one salient characteristic: it would appear every one represents a MALE cat. How can we tell? Let's just say the distinctive way in which most of the cats are hand-painted in contrasting colors. To be blunt, she could call them “Cat Nutts Refrigerator Magnets” and no-one would bat an eye.
"I made it with all my heart," states Catsgirl. "I think that such work is fun and it is the real pleasure of creative activities." You can't say her heart isn't in the right place, amiright? The odd thing – well, maybe the oddest thing – is that to our knowledge tomcats don't have color-contrasting scrotums. Then again, we really haven't looked all that closely.
