Build an educational playground where kids can learn about honeybees, they said. It'll be fun, they said.
We included this bizarre playground in our collection of Terrifying Playground Animals but since it's so unusual and apparently unique – for good reason – we thought we'd dig a bit deeper while hoping not to annoy the enormous Queen Bee that must be lurking underground.
Information is fleeting on the playground; presumably reporters sent to cover it fled screaming and shaking in their boots. About all we can tell you is it's located somewhere in eastern Europe; no surprise really because there are more whacked-out playgrounds there than just about anywhere else.
The playground is in rather rough shape and building it out of wood may not have been the best idea. OK, building it AT ALL wasn't a good idea, period. Just guessing here but some school or civil authority must've thought creating a replica of a honeycomb a thousand or so times actual size would entrance children with the wonders of nature. Well here's a newsflash: nature, you scary! (via Sevastopol Blackout)
