In the world of odd pairings comes a sweet little lamb named Lambie Baa Baa — no, we did not make that up — and an equally sweet dog named Ruby who have become the best of friends since Lambie showed up at Edgar's Mission Farm, an animal sanctuary in Australia. Ruby isn't just any dog. She's Edgar's official vet nurse responsible for making new members to the sanctuary feel welcome, and she's very good at her job.
When Lambie Baa Baa showed up, he was probably more than a little scared. It was Ruby's job to comfort him, and from the looks of the insanely cute picture of the adorable duo snuggling together Ruby came through with flying colors. The sanctuary has stated that so far Lambie has made it known that he has a penchant for nibbling on chins, when he isn't nursing from a bottle or luxuriating in the warm glow of a comfortable, safe setting.
Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary
Lambie's new home provides rescued animals a wonderful and oftentimes live-saving alternative to where they could have ended up. Edgar's Mission is a nonprofit sanctuary for rescued farm animals, and the folks there are hoping to educate the public about the thousands of less fortunate animals out there in the hope that more people will take up their cause. Their motto is: “If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming others … why wouldn’t we?”
$100,000 Kindness Challenge
Right now, the sanctuary is in the middle of a kindness challenge in an effort to raise $100,000. So far, they've come up with roughly $50,000 of it. Not too shabby. It takes a lot of money to run a sanctuary, especially one with farm animals. If you can help out or you'd like to follow Lambie's progress, you can go to the Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary official website and get all the details, plus a look at a lot more pictures of Lambie and all of his new friends. Believe me, it's worth it.
