If you're looking for a broad, challenging range of canine activity products, look no further than Starmark's treat dispensers.
Starmark is not just a dog toy company, it's a dog training academy run by canine behavior and training specialists. They know dogs, and you can tell by how popular their treat dispensers are that dogs are really attracted to what they create - a wide variety of chews, bones, treats, and dispensers, all designed to meet specific canine needs. Starmark products are innovative and cleverly designed too.
Each design focuses on meeting specific needs of your dog, needs like mental stimulation, curiosity, and reduction of anxiety. Below, for each dispenser we cover, you'll find a short video showing how to fill the dispenser, a dog 'playing' with the dispenser, and what canine needs are being satisfied by that particular dispenser. These dispensers are both toys and feeders which make meal time or treat time joyous for your dogs and well as challenging, and what dog doesn't love a challenge?
By the way, each of the treat dispensers have a graduating level of challenge for your dog, so your pup won't get tired of playing with them if you adjust the dispenser according to his current skill level.
Note that most of Starmark's dog toys/dispensers are manufactured in China; I know this is an issue for some customers; however, the materials used in the manufacturing of the dispensers are FDA approved and, according to customers, the products are well-made. The treats and chews made by Starmark are made in the USA.
The Starmark Bob-A-Lot is the most popular Starmark treat dispenser. It's a 'wobbler and bobber.' In sizes small and large, the Bob-A-Lot can hold quite a bit of kibble or small treats for your dog and keep her busy for some time with its unpredictable moves. The dispenser has a range of settings for your pup, from beginner to advanced, which keeps your dog interested in the Bob-A-Lot as she gets accustomed to what's required to unleash the great treats.
The video below will show you how to fill the Bob-A-Lot and, as a dog 'plays' with it, the video will explain what skills are being learned or what needs are being fulfilled.
The PicklePocket for heavy chewers is one of my favorite treat dispensers. It's the perfect shape for a dog's mouth and the perfect squishy material that still offers plenty of resistance to tough chewers. There are two sides to the PicklePocket; each side has an opening like the one you see above. You can place the treat close to the surface of the PicklePocket, or deeper inside the PicklePocket for dogs who are more adept with the dispenser....
The PicklePocket is made from FDA approved materials that are as tough as rubber but more giving than rubber. I would put soft treats tin this dispenser; in fact, Starmark makes treats specifically for the PicklePocket that you can see in the image above - Flavor Wave Treats. Customers also report that peanut butter works well in this treat dispenser. Doesn't it always?
This simple-looking ball actually provides a good workout for your dog, both physically and mentally. First, dogs love to play with balls, and the more you throw it, the more exercise your pup will get. But it's also not that easy for your pup to remove those treats or kibble you place inside. The Starmark Treat Dispensing Chew Ball is also scented - vanilla-scented - so you can use it to help with scent-training!
The Starmark Treat Dispensing Chew Ball comes in medium (2.75") and large (4"), is dishwasher-safe, and a tough workout!
*** The next three treat dispensers use Starmark's Interlocking Everlasting Treats in addition to smaller treats you may want to add. The treats, like the dispensers, come in small, medium, and large.
Looks like a fire hydrant, acts like a life saver for dog parents with chewers on their hands. The Fire Plug comes in small, medium, and large and is one of three Starmark toys that hold Starmark's Everlasting Treats. The Fire Plug may be the least resistant to aggressive chewers than the Everlasting Treat Ball or the Everlasting Mento Ball, below.
The Bento Ball not only offers an Everlasting Treat but some good dental massage for your dog. Another tough treat ball from Starmark that comes in small, medium and large. It holds one Everlasting Treat, but you can place more treats inside the ball.
While not perfectly round, the Starmark Everlasting Treat Ball does the trick in holding treats and giving your dog an interesting workout. Same as the two Everlasting Treat holders above, the Ball comes in small, medium, and large.
Here is a Starmark video that introduces all three Everlasting Treat Holders: the Fire Plug, Bento Ball, and Ball.
You can find a variety of interlocking Starmark Everlasting Treats here. Whatever you use to fill the Starmark treat holders, make sure your dog loves it, and change or rotate the treats often.
Your dog can always benefit from a challenge and something different to occupy his play time or alone time. The Starmark products are a great way to provide stimulation and food to your canine buddies.
That's the buzz for today!
