Post your pet's digital photo to Poppet and this Japanese company will take it to the next dimension – literally.

3D Pet Photos Seem To Pop Right Out Of The Frame

Poppet turns ordinary 2D digital photos of your dog, cat or any type of pet into high-relief 3D portraits that appear to be pushing right through the front of the frame. It's no wonder Poppet chooses not to dimensionally enhance photos of people because the effect is just a tad creepy... kinda like mounted big game trophy head creepy. *shudder*

Each pet portrait is made-to-order from a digital photo or photos (one face-on and one profile works best) taken with a digicam or smartphone camera processed using patent-pending “special technology”. Poppet doesn't provide explicit details but they do state the effect is achieved through a combination of 3D-CAD and individual by-hand retouching by trained staff members.

The retouching adds a subtle texture to the mainly glossy finish with the intent being to support the perception of depth while retaining a sense of naked-eye realism, or as Poppet puts it: “eyes and nose are... finished in shiny as though wet, deep love for the pet is felt.” Allrighty then, if that sort of thing floats your boat, visit the Poppet website for more info, their FAQ and ordering details.
